About myFriend
Welcome to the myFriend community. myFriend is the implementation of a group of European telecommunications standards designed to make sure that all people can communicate at a distance.
myFriend applications adhere to the European Total Conversation standards, meaning that you are able to communicate video, voice and text simultaneously and to do so in real time.
myFriend is ideal for Deaf sign language users, hard of hearing people who want to use text or just to see the other person in the call, for older people, for people with learning or speech disabilities and even for Deafblind people. In fact, in the end, Total Conversation is for everyone.
myFriend is free and can be used on Windows computers and laptops (myFriend) and on mobile phones and mobile devices which have the Android operating system (myFriend mobile). There are a large number of these devices. Make sure your phone or tablet has at least Android version 2.1 or better still, Android 2.2.

Free video, voice and text calls from your desktop, laptop or mobile device With myFriend you can make free video, text or voice calls from your desktop computer or mobile device to other myFriend users and to other older videophones (you do need a broadband connection – either fixed line or Wifi or mobile) |

Text communication With myFriend you can have text communication using the latest standard Real Time Text (RTT) which allows you to see all the text as it is being typed. |

Video mailbox With myFriend you have your own video mailbox where people can leave messages for you when you are unavailable to take a call. Just call *97 to find out if you have any messages. |

Action on Hearing Loss Talk by Text With myFriend you can communicate with text phone users and with RNID's Talk by Text service. |

British Sign Language interpreter relay |

Speech to text translation myFriend has linked up with GOOGLE Translate to provide automatic speech to text translation. This allows a speaker to talk directly into the mobile phone and to have their speech displayed as text for the Deaf or hard of hearing user. (Currently only available on myFriend mobile) |
myFriend is a development in the REACH112 project which is part funded by the European Commission and is active in five countries in Europe. myFriend mobile is a product developed by Aupix Ltd.
